About Us

Our mission is to live and demonstrate the "Good News" of God's Kingdom that transforms lives and communities, both at home and around the world.

Our Church

Hope Community Church traces it's roots back to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob of the Older Testament and even more clearly to the early Christian Church of the first century. It is part of the largest segment of Christian churches worldwide that call themselves "Reformed". We are specifically, one of nearly one thousand, Christian Reformed Churches (CRC) across North America.  We are a church that professes Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, which is the source of “Christian” in our name.  The word “reformed” refers to the Protestant Reformation in the 16th Century during which the Protestant Church was born.  For more information visit ww.crcna.org.

Our Beliefs

 ·     We may use up-to-date language and music to communicate God’s Word for today’s culture, but the message is as old as the Bible itself. We embrace historic Christian teaching on salvation through Jesus Christ, faith in Christ alone, repentance, and the authority of the unique God-inspired Bible.

·    We believe the Bible is the sufficient, trustworthy, authoritative source of truth about God and His plan for us.

·    We believe in God as a Trinity, revealing Himself as one God in three natures or persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

·    We believe that all people are sinners and cannot be restored to fellowship with God by any power of their own.

·    We believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross to pay for our sins, that He was buried, and that He was raised from the dead on the third day, and ascended to the Father.

·    We believe that the only way to be reconciled to God is by faith in Christ and His work on the cross.

·    We believe that God will accept all who repent of their sins and believe that the finished work of Jesus Christ is the only basis of Salvation.

Our Story
Hope Community Church recently commemorated its 50th Anniversary in 2007. Hope Church was started by a group of four Christian Reformed Church (CRC) families who moved to Indianapolis and desired to raise their children in a "Reformed" CRC church. The first regular service was held on October 13, 1957 at a funeral home. They soon moved to new surroundings in the Devington neighborhood of Indianapolis. As their members moved north to Castleton, they followed them there to their current location at Hague and 75th Streets. Throughout that time the Lord has been faithful to our efforts and service.  We are currently experiencing growth in our membership and service to the community.
